This recording contains Mike Elam's appearance on Maui's own listener-supported Mana'o Radio KEAO-LP 91.5 FM. Mike appeared on Friday June 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Mike played a selection of songs with a theme called "Rise Up Singing". All songs are contained in the group singing songbook of the same name. The book contains over 1,200 songs ranging from folk, country, show tunes, standards, classic pop, some traditional Scottish/Irish, sea shanty’s, etc. Songs are inspired by the likes of Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, Woody Guthrie, Stan Rogers, the Clancy Brothers, Peter Paul and Mary, Tom Paxton, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Phil Ochs, Bill Staines, Leadbelly, The Weavers, Simon & Garfunkel, Ian & Sylvia, Johnny Cash, and many, many more.
